General Secretary & Treasurer

Dear Members

I am writing to let you know that, after seven years of dedicated service, our General Secretary & Treasurer, Kate Dickinson will be leaving the Poultry Club later in the summer.  Her last day with us will be Friday 19th August 2022.  Whilst this is sad news for us at the club, it represents an exciting new opportunity for Kate, who will be taking up the role of Membership and Events Manager with the British Free Range Egg Producers Association.  A fitting move, I’m sure you’ll agree and one where her Poultry Club experience will be put to excellent use.

Over the past seven years Kate has made a significant contribution to the growth in membership, voice and reach of the club.  She has also been instrumental in improving compliance, financial management and governance.  The 2019 National Championship Poultry & Egg Show was the biggest and best on record and Kate’s organisational, administrative and management skills were key to this success.  Despite the recent challenges to our hobby, the Poultry Club’s most recent public event at Dumfries House, conceived and spearheaded by Kate, was a resounding success.  Known to you all and a friend to many, she will most certainly be missed in the poultry fancy and by the Poultry Club.  The Board of Trustees would like to record their thanks for Kate’s contribution and acknowledge her dedication to the club, which will be greatly missed.  We look forward to staying in touch given her future role in the poultry world.

Trustees are reviewing the staffing and support requirements of the club and we will update members on recruitment plans in due course.  Until then, I’m sure you will join us in wishing Kate the very best on her exciting new journey.

Good luck Kate!
