Welcome
to the Poultry Club Website
Founded
in 1877, we are a registered charity which exists to safeguard
the interests all pure and traditional breeds of poultry, both
in Great Britain and throughout the world. As guardians of the
'British Poultry Standards',
the club has a crucial role in safeguarding stock bloodlines which
have been maintained for generations.

The Poultry Club is responsible for running and organising the
National Championship Show -
the UK's Premier exhibition of poultry. Many of our members exhibit
their birds at agricultural, club, and society shows throughout
the year - competing for PCGB awards - and all of the UK poultry
breeds
can be seen at the majority of show societies which are affiliated
to us.
The National Championship Show 2008 will be held at Stoneleigh on Saturday 29th November and Sunday 30th November. Schedules will be distributed with the Autumn Newsletter in early September.
The Poultry Club organises the Poultry Judges Panel and system of poultry judging examinations, as well as Poultry Proficiency exams for our many Junior member poultry keepers. We co-ordinate a national Ringing Scheme to help maintain accurate identification and pedigree records which will be vital for future reference and conservation of all breeds of poultry.
The Helpline has been set up for those having difficulty with cockerels crowing, receiving complaints etc.
Small quantities of the oral coccidiosis vaccine Paracox are available to bone fide members of the PCGB. This information is published, together with an order form, in the PCGB Spring Newsletters. Contact the Secretary (info@poultryclub.org) if you would like an extra copy, remembering to order the Paracox in time for your first hatch.
Transport regulations have changed recently and in order to comply when taking birds to a show or elsewhere, it is recommended to print off and use the Transport Certficate.
This
