The
National Championship Show

"The Jewel in the Crown of Poultry Shows"
  |
The History of the National
The Silver Jubilee of the National Championship Show took place in 1996.
From an initial entry of 1798 exhibits in 1973, in 1998 over 6500 exhibits were present!
The original 130 class schedule has increased to over 1000. Will Burdett, who has been so
involved in the growth of our showpiece event, explains how the show has grown and
prospered through good times and bad. |

In Praise of Losers
Is winning all that matters when showing? Alan Dawson gives the 'losers'
the limelight for once - at the National Championship Show there were 5389 exhibits
that did not win a 1st prize! If it were not for the losers, the show would not be as
interesting or exciting. |
